National Park tourism business event, Thursday 16 February

I would be delighted if you would join me and National Park partners at a free event where we will explore the major developments in the tourism industry that should make 2012 a landmark year for businesses in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, West Dunbartonshire and across Scotland.

The event takes place from 10am to 1pm at the National Park headquarters, Carrochan Road, Balloch, on Thursday 16 February.

This year has enormous potential. We have the right product in the Year of Creative Scotland 2012, the marketing power of Disney/Pixar behind their new Brave movie, and we have the opportunity that comes with the Olympics at the height of the summer.

At this event, Mairi Bell, Tourism Manager at Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, will give an update on work to develop tourism in the Park.

We will discuss the changes to the Scottish Thistle Awards - now open for entries - and how they will make the awards work better for you.

Plus, VisitScotland’s Digital & Media team will unveil exciting changes to VisitScotland.com that will help both visitors and businesses get more out of the website — with plenty of time for your questions.

There’s a lot to discuss, so we hope you’ll stay for our networking lunch too.

On behalf of VisitScotland and the National Park Authority, I look forward to meeting you on the day.

Kind regards
